City Botanic Gardens

For a leisurely and partly shaded walk, a stroll through the City Botanic Gardens is wonderful, with lots of colonial history, stunning sub-tropical gardens also feature a well-shaded playground for children and a duck pond. For a guided walk meet at the Alice St gates at the rotunda Monday-Saturday at 11am or 1pm, or pick up a map at the rotunda for a self-guided walk.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs

The incredible Kangaroo Point Cliffs is a popular place for picnics, walking, jogging, cycling and taking in sunrise and sunset views of Brisbane. With a 5km walking circuit around the inner city starting at the Maritime Museum you can head toward the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, following along toward Story Bridge you can stop under the Story Bridge at Captain Burke Park with a silty sandy beach to explore and plenty of little parks, picnic shelters and playgrounds along the way.
